Summary[]

When Reggie was born, the doctors found he had a small hole inside his heart. Then by the time he was four, he got really sick and his parents were afraid that they were going to lose him. Also, at the time the doctors were too afraid to operate on him since he was such a young person. Then a doctor named Dr. Frank Flynn took a chance and operated on him. Dr. Flynn was the head of surgery at Brooklyn Children's hospital. And he had been experiencing new surgery techniques, and he convinced the Jenkins to let him operate on Reggie. So thankfully Reggie survived.

Jamal and his father were the ones responsible for letting Ghostwriter out of the book he was preserved in. It happened while they were bringing an old trunk, which belonged to Jamal's great grandfather Ezra, upstairs from the basement. That trunk would be used to carry Jamal's sister Danitra's belongings to college.

Reggie also works for the cities subway system. He also prints out all sorts of neat maps and and charts for Jamal. In the "To the Light" He was informed that Rob Baker and a friend of his named Lisa Norburt had gotten themselves trapped inside area of the subway tunnels. His son and his friends told him that Rob and Lisa may have been stuck around the s32 area. So he was able to find the area and have them rescued.

Also, during this time his mother had befriend a new friend named Bertrin Braithwaite, who became her new boyfriend. He was a little resentful of him at first, but he soon adjusted to his mother having a new man in her life.

In the "Just in Time" story arc, he became very sick. He had x-rays done that were showing that he had dark spots on his heart. Soon Ghostwriter was beginning to fade too. It turned out that there was trouble going on in the past. In the 1928, Frank Flynn had been wrongfully accused of stealing a tea set. So Frank would have been kicked out of his foster home and sent to a group home. And Frank never would have gotten the proper education that he needed to grow up and become a doctor. Therefore Reggie would have died when he was four-years-old. So Jamal never would have been born. And the Ghostwriter Team never would have been formed. Luckily the Ghostwriter Team worked hard and contacted Franks two friends in the past, Catherine Canellan and Lucy Canellan. They informed the girls that the thief was really Raynard Wilcox. So the girls convinced their father Dr. Canellan to catch him. So they did and Frank was never kicked out, got the proper education he needed, and grew up to the doctor who saved Reggie's life.
