Danitra Jenkins is Jamal's older sister. She is six years older than him. He has a somewhat difficult relationship with her.

Television Series[]

At the beginning of the series, Danitra went off to college, and she gave Jamal her computer. Like Grandma Jenkins, she also could not see Ghostwriter's words on the computer.

She made her last appearance in the first season during the story arc "Who's Who?", where Grandma Jenkins was hospitalized with a serious cold. When her Grandma recovered, she mentioned that she now had a boyfriend, and she was happy to hear that her Grandma was now seeing Mr. Braitwaite.

Alias Diamond Jones[]

Danitra is home for the summer from college, and works at the pool where her brother and his friends swim. Later, she makes a supper for both her family and the team of African American cuisine. She argues with her mother some about the food being "exotic"- her mother states that that her family was born in America, while Danitra reminds her about the past history of slavery and states that people of their heritage should be together.

Mrs. Jenkins then reminds her daughter of the presence of Jamal's friends, and how they would be feeling about the argument.

Danitra is in one section where she was walking her friend's poodle, while the team would be going inside of a department store. Danitra could not go inside the store, since animals were not allowed.
